Accounting Assistant

NEWMAN SIGNS

This position involves general office work, assisting with both Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, account reconciliation and answering phones. We are seeking someone who can be accurate in their work, flexible, has sound work ethic and solid computer skills.

CAREER DETAILS

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Maintain filing by scanning and assigning documents
  • Code invoices with proper expense accounts
  • Record invoices in accounting software
  • Match payments with remittances and mail to vendors
  • Billing customers
  • Mail statements to customers
  • Reconciling bank statements
  • Backup for receptionist during breaks and time off
  • Creating and maintaining spreadsheets
  • Assist accounting and administrative personnel as needed
  • Complete special projects and misc. assignments as required

COMPETENCIES

  • Computer skills including the ability to operate computerized accounting
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Experience answering multi-line business phone preferred
  • Typing or keyboarding experience required
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality

HOURS OF WORK

  • 5-day workweek (Mon-Fri)
  • 8:00 am to 5:00 pm
  • No travel required

REQUIREMENTS

  • High school diploma / GED
  • Preferred Microsoft Dynamics GP knowledge
